Jonathan Barnett, owner of Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, has been honored as one of Franchise Times magazine's "20 to Watch" of 2011, a list that identifies the top movers, shakers and money makers of the franchise industry.
The "20 to Watch" list started in 2000 when Franchise Times magazine wanted to give recognition to the people, places and things that would have an impact on franchising in the coming years. This year, Jonathan's drive and business know-how earned him recognition from the Franchise Times magazine. The editors were, among other things, impressed by Jonathan's early commitment to franchising his carpet cleaning companies and his desire to continually learn more about how to become a first-class franchisor.
"It is such an honor to be recognized by such an influential publication in the franchising industry," said Jonathan. "It's taken a lot of hard work to get where we are today, but it's definitely paying off and we are excited to see where 2011 takes us."
Jonathan's path to the top 20 started when he was just a college entrepreneur. His college business, Johnny B's Fireworks, grew every year in size and profit. When he graduated, he sold the business and moved on to getting his Masters Degree. From there, with a fiery interest in franchising, he founded Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning in 2006. Now, just a few years later, it's one of the nation's fastest-growing franchises with over 200 units. With no signs of slowing, it's easy to see why Jonathan is one of the "20 to Watch" in this new year.
