LOS ANGELES, CA, February 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Showtime's "Weeds" co-star and Israeli Oscar nominee and Tony Award winning actress, Meital Dohan sees her American film debut in the critically acclaimed drama, "Monogamy", premiering March 11, 2011. Dohan co-stars alongside actress, Rashida Jones ("I Love You Man", "The Social Network") and Chris Messina ("Julie and Julia", "Devil"). The dark feature, directed by Academy Award nominee, Dana Adam Shapiro ("Murderball") won "Best Narrative" at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival and was nominated for "Best First Screenplay" at the 2011 Spirit Awards respectively.
Increasingly anxious about his impending marriage to Nat (Jones) and bored with his day job as a wedding photographer, Theo (Messina) develops an unconventional side business as a voyeuristic photographer, where clients hire him to secretly stalk them with his camera. All is well, until Theo's latest gig, shooting a sultry exhibitionist (Dohan), develops into an obsession that forces Theo to face his own personal demons and imminent marriage.
"Dana Shapiro is a brilliant director and it was a pleasure working with seasoned actors like Rashida and Chris," says Meital Dohan. "Monogamy is relevant to the time we live in where the Internet and technology readily grant access to sex and fantasy - things that affect today's modern marriage and make it harder to stay monogamous."
Recently, Meital finished production on the feature film, Foreclosure, co-starring Michael Imperioli ("The Lovely Bones") and Wendell Pierce ("Ray" and "The Wire") and can be heard on her hit Internet radio show, "Loud Miracles". In addition, her book Love and Other Bad Habits - a volume about feminine beauty and identity - is working on its fourth edition. For more information, please visit: http://www.meitaldohan.com.
