Time to do business in Cyprus and Greece
Greece has just gone through a year of consolidation and reform unprecedented in its history. Having met and exceeded the EU/IMF targets set in 2010 the country is now looking forward with considerable optimism and a reinvigorated business community. Tourism, energy, ICT, food & beverage and environmental management are all key growth industry sectors which offer opportunities to international businesses with the right products or services.
Cyprus meanwhile has an excellent business sector that has become a popular off-shore haven for investors. Furthermore the island's economy has been on a steady rise and is once again expected to grow by a decent 3.8% over the coming year.
The very location of the island is favourable for business as it is strategically located at the crossroads of three continents. Cyprus is also a member of the European Union and offers investors one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the EU.
The island's economic stability is further enhanced by a very strong economic performance that has been bolstered not only by its tourist and business markets but also by its red hot property market. Another plus is that Cyprus transitioned to the Euro on Jan. 1, 2008
Colin fell; Group Managing Director of Copernicus Consulting said that "We are very excited about this new investment in the region. Increasing our local presence puts us in a much stronger position to assist our clients and ensure that they are adequately supported where it matters, close to their customers. Despite its well published economic difficulties we identified the region as an important trading opportunity for many international companies some time ago. It is likely that we now will see many more European, US and Asian companies looking to win market share and to establish better business relationships in the region as it recovers and grows."
Companies are beginning to increasingly recognise the possibilities for business in the region, but may be unable to take full advantage of them fully from their domestic markets as they need to set up a base or establish a trading partnership in order to fully exploit the opportunities. Copernicus provides such support along with its many market entry and development services.
