Health Market Science Enhances its Prescriber MasterFile with State Medicaid Exclusions

The Company is working with all eighteen states that currently publish Medicaid exclusion data to support pharmacy and PBM compliance efforts.

2011-03-03
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, March 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Health Market Science (HMS), a leading source for healthcare provider data and solutions, today announced the enhancement of its Prescriber MasterFile with the integration of state Medicaid exclusion information to improve the efforts of Pharmacy and PBM compliance programs. HMS is working closely with State Medicaid Agencies to ensure that each agency understands the implications of federal healthcare reform and the resulting regulations impacting federally funded programs and the providers that support these programs. According to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), bases for exclusion include convictions for program-related fraud and patient abuse, licensing board actions, and default on Health Education Assistance Loans.

"The state Medicaid exclusions complement our existing HMS Sanctions product produced from OIG, State, and Federal sources for Prescribers and Pharmacists," commented Craig L. Ford, senior vice president of HMS's pharmacy segment, "this state level information will be of great benefit to our clients as they strive to address mounting compliance demands."

Part of the HMS Provider MasterFile and our suite of compliance solutions, the Prescriber MasterFile includes more than 1.4 million prescribers, demographic, licensure, status information, affiliations, and more than 1.3 million email addresses.

Mississippi
Connecticut
New Jersey
