Tricoci University of Beauty Culture: A Cut Above the Competition

Premiere Illinois Beauty School Launches First of its Kind Facebook Hiring Application

NORTHBROOK, IL, March 04, 2011

Always at the forefront of new and innovative ways to enhance beauty education, Tricoci University of Beauty Culture (TUBC), the nation's premier beauty school, recently launched a Facebook application that allows their students to create a "virtual portfolio," which industry professionals can browse when looking to hire.

Created to help students with the transition from beauty education to a beauty career, the new application gives students the ability to show off their work, as well as their educational background, to potential salons for employment.

"Our placement rates are already really high—88% based on our last official report—but we wanted to do even more to help our upcoming graduates start their careers," said Brian Weed, CEO of TUBC. "By adding this resource for the students, we are giving them a way to reach employers using Facebook, which they are familiar with."

Young adults are not only familiar with Facebook, but they are true experts at navigating the popular social network. Students at TUBC can create a portfolio of their work and post it to their TUBC Student profile along with other information that is relevant to salons and spas hiring beauty school graduates..

Postings on the database can be viewed by anyone looking to hire TUBC graduates. However, TUBC's Salon Corps members—salons and spas that have a strong relationship with Tricoci University—g et exclusive access to additional information about the upcoming graduates, Salons and spas seeking to become a member of Salon Corps can do so by contacting Tricoci University directly.

"While the application is open to all potential employers of our graduates, we are excited to provide special access for our Salon Corps members," said Weed. "This is just one of many benefits we offer to these members."
