Chicago Plastic Surgeon Experiences Increased Demand for Breast Lifts and Reductions
2011-03-05
LAKE FOREST, IL, March 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dr. Paul M. Steinwald (http://www.lfplasticsurgery.com/), a double board-certified plastic surgeon with offices in Lake Forest and Chicago, says breast lifts and breast reductions have recently become more popular than breast enlargement at his Chicago practice. Although breast augmentation remains a top cosmetic surgical procedure, many women are choosing different options for rejuvenating their appearance. And in some cases, such as "mommy makeovers," Dr. Steinwald combines procedures to provide them with the results they desire.

At his practice, Dr. Steinwald has noted that "young mothers who have lost breast volume and or breast 'perkiness' after pregnancy frequently assume they need implants. In reality, however, these patients often have enough natural tissue remaining to create an 'auto-augmentation' effect." This term refers to a special procedure during which the Chicago plastic surgeon lifts the tissues into an optimal position. Dr. Steinwald then removes any excess skin and tightens it, resulting in firm, uplifted breasts.

"Breast lift surgery is one of the best methods for helping women achieve their pre-baby bodies," says Dr. Steinwald. "Women often consult me about the changes they observe in their bodies after having had a baby. When I discuss their treatment options for rejuvenating their bodies, most women choose a tummy tuck, breast lift, and liposuction in Chicago. Combining procedures is extremely advantageous for my patients: they can reduce their recovery time, lower their costs and get the beautiful bodies they desire and deserve!"

Elective breast reduction surgery also has become more popular, according to Dr. Steinwald, especially for women who do not want to go through insurance-mandated months of physical therapy or chiropractic treatments. During a breast reduction procedure, he removes significantly more excess fat and tissue than during a breast lift, making the breasts smaller and firmer. Dr. Steinwald then repositions the breasts to a more youthful position. This surgery can alleviate problems that often result from overly large breasts, such as backaches, shoulder pain, and even headaches.

"Women who experience pain such as headaches and backaches can benefit immensely from a breast reduction," explains Dr. Steinwald. "Even if a breast reduction is not deemed medically necessary by a woman's insurance company, we offer affordable rates so that she can still get relief. We understand what a difference - both physically and emotionally - a breast reduction can make."

In addition to the many breast lift and reduction cases at his plastic surgery practice near Chicago, Dr. Steinwald performs body contouring and facial surgery procedures. Among the most popular procedures are abdominoplasty, post weight loss surgery, eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty. Women and men choose Dr. Steinwald because he takes the time to understand their unique cosmetic goals. He then designs and explains to them an individualized treatment plan to provide them with natural-looking, attractive results.

"I believe in offering my patients treatments that are proven to work," says Dr. Steinwald. "My focus is on achieving the best results for my patients. I respect and value them, and want to do all I can to meet and even exceed their expectations. I take pride in giving them the highest quality care possible."

Lake Forest Plastic Surgery (http://www.lfplasticsurgery.com) is located on North Westmoreland Road in Lake Forest, Illinois. Dr. Paul M. Steinwald is a plastic surgeon who is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. After graduating from Dartmouth College and Tulane School of Medicine, Dr. Steinwald completed a surgical residency and plastic surgery fellowship before returning to his hometown of Lake Forest to join his father in private practice. At Lake Forest Plastic Surgery, he offers a complete range of cosmetic surgery options and specializes in the latest breast, body, and facial surgery techniques.
