Laboratory Testing Inc. Attending SIBC and ACIBC Events in March 2011
Laboratory Testing Inc., supplier of materials analysis, metals testing, nondestructive testing and calibration services, will attend the SIBC Submarine Supplier Days and the ACIBC Action Days 2011 Conference in March 2011.
HATFIELD, PA, March 05, 2011
Owners and management of Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) will be attending the Submarine Industrial Base Council (SIBC) 20th annual Submarine Supplier Days on March 8 and 9, 2011 and the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC) 7th annual Action Days 2011 Conference on March 30 and 31, 2011. Laboratory Testing Inc. provides materials analysis, metals testing, nondestructive testing and calibration services to companies that supply parts and materials to both industries. Both events will be held in Washington, D.C. and will include meetings with members of Congress to discuss their programs.Submarine Supplier Days provides an opportunity for SIBC members to meet with elected representatives to continue to build support for the Virginia-Class Program and the Ohio-Replacement Program, and to help educate representatives about the important national security benefits of these programs. SIBC says the campaign is particularly important this year with a newly-elected Congress and increased focus on budget issues. The VIRGINIA nuclear submarine is the latest class of advanced capability fast attack submarine to be designed and delivered to the United States Navy. The US Navy has a fleet of 14 Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines that will start retiring in 2027 after over 40 years of service. Support is needed for research and development of an Ohio-class replacement that is seaworthy by that time.
The ACIBC states that the shipbuilding industry is critical to both our nation's security and the economy of United States. Members of the ACIBC will gather in Washington to urge continued support for the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier programs. They will meet with members of Congress to discuss how sustained Congressional funding for the carrier programs has important implications for the continued strength of the thousands of companies that provide parts and services for the construction and maintenance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
