Martin Releases "Against the Law," the Last in the Raines Trilogy

New York Times bestselling author, Kat Martin, has announced the upcoming release of the final book in her Raines of Wind Canyon trilogy.

2011-03-06
CHICAGO, IL, March 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) New York Times bestselling author, Kat Martin, has announced the upcoming release of the final book in her Raines of Wind Canyon trilogy. The eagerly awaited final installment of the popular series is entitled "Against the Law," and will be released Feb. 22, 2011.

The book introduces the last of the wild Raines brothers, Dev Raines, a man who has been badly hurt and takes great effort to protect his heart from further pain. The former U.S. Army Ranger has left the military and at the age of 32, is mostly retired from Raines Investigation. He's happy to run the operation from his home in Arizona and enjoy the fruits of his labors, but that's before Lark Delaney comes to call.

Raines has never been able to say no to a beautiful woman, and the sexy, successful Lark instantly stirs his blood. His new client is desperate to find the child her sister gave up for adoption, a task Raines doesn't think will take long. The investigation quickly becomes more complicated, turning the case into something much darker when he uncovers a shady adoption ring. To complicate matters, the child's adoptive parents have been murdered and the little girl taken to parts unknown.

As Raines delves more deeply into the seedy underbelly of the industry, the case grows more dangerous. He needs to keep his wits about him, but he can't ignore the powerful attraction he feels for the beautiful Lark, a woman who is his match in every way. Events of the past have shown him he can't trust his own judgment or the emotions he's long since buried. As his need for her grows, he realizes that if he can save Lark's niece, he may find his own salvation.

Millions have read the popular Raines of Wind Canyon series and books in the trilogy have attained the New York Times bestseller list. The last book in the trilogy brings closure to the series and love to the most unsettled of the Raines brothers. The novel is entertaining and views a social issue from an angle many fear to contemplate. While most adoptions are conducted honestly, there is a seamier segment that deals in children and shady adoptions solely as a means of making money.

Kat Martin began writing in 1985 and quickly became a New York Times bestselling author. She's written over 40 romantic suspense, historical and contemporary novels, and is the author of over 11 trilogies that range from the historical to the paranormal. Her works have been published in 12 languages and 24 countries. She's married to Larry Jay Martin, an author, screenplay writer and blogger. Fans can follow her on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn and Squidoo. Readers can also visit her website and join her mailing list.
