Dakota Dental Awarded 2011 Preferred Provider Status

Dakota Dental Demonstrates High Commitment To Esthetic Dentistry

2011-03-06
APPLE VALLEY, MN, March 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dr. Shelley Wakefield, the president and one of the practicing dentists at Dakota Dental Apple Valley Family Dentistry, was awarded "2011 Preferred Provider" status by Invisalign for clinical proficiency and for exceeding continuing educational requirements. This is the third year in a row that Dakota Dental has achieved this Preferred Provider status.

With an emphasis on excellence in dentistry, Dr. Wakefield has exemplified her commitment to education by earning more than double the required continuing education credits for the Invisalign provider certification. Dr. Wakefield is also one of fewer than 300 dentists worldwide to graduate from the Post-Doctorate Course in Contemporary and Esthetic Dentistry. This Post Doctorate course required 200 hours of didactic and hands-on training in esthetic or cosmetic dentistry. The goal of this course is to gain the ability to treat complex restorative cases with a variety of advanced esthetic techniques.

As a general dentist, Dr Wakefield says she especially loves two aspects of her Apple Valley Dental Clinic, Invisalign and esthetics. "I have seen time and again that I can help people actually change their lives with these treatments. Patients may develop more self confidence and go after a promotion, they may eat in public for the first time or they may feel confident enough to have senior portraits taken. I have seen patients with a habit of holding their hand over their mouth. What a gift from God that I can turn that around, have them lose that posturing and replace it with a confident smile!" says Dr. Wakefield. Dr. Wakefield is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the St. Paul District Dental Society, SCADA and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Shelley Wakefield and her associate, Dr. Bennett Isabella, serve the southern Minneapolis/Saint Paul suburbs through Dakota Dental Apple Valley family dentistry. Located in the Pennock Professional Building in Apple Valley, Minnesota, Dakota Dental Center provides comprehensive dental work including, but not limited to, preventative care, restorative treatments, dental implants, periodontal disease treatment, bonding, crowns, veneers, bridges, sealants, extractions, root canals, low anxiety dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.
