NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, March 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Controlled with a extended snorkel, equipped with a green start button, throttle, and kill switch, the JetBoarder is designed to be easy for the beginner, yet challenging for the athlete.
Chris Kanyaro, Jet Captain, decided to take me for a ride. I have to say the JetBoarder looked nothing like I expected. Approximately 8" long, housing a 45 Horsepower 330cc engine. This thing is packed with the latest technology. The applications of such a small powerful engine seem endless. After a quick safety brief, Chris Kanyaro assured me I was ready to go.
The water was glass, not a hint of wind, and the sun was beaming down. The conditions were perfect. I fired up the engine, and the JetBoarder wanted to go. I could feel this machine has plenty of grunt. Pushing down on the throttle, the JetBoarder pulled itself up onto the plane. I could feel the board become more stable as I accelerated. Now the skill was standing. No, I didn't make it and off I came. What I found fun with the JetBoarder was my interaction with the craft, and the falling into the water. 'It was all me'. Inserting the kill switch (the automatic engine cut out), press the green start button, and away we go again. This time, I got it. Quickly getting up on my feet. WOW 'I'm JetBoarding'. It was not long before I was really carving and really leaning into the turns. The experience of powering into turns on this craft is like nothing I have ever experienced. Decided to test my limits, and slowly walked up towards the nose. Called nose riding, the JetBoarder allows you to walk up to the nose and lean forward, a real 'Walk on Water feeling'.
The JetBoarder is best on flat water when you start out, but with a bit of practice I can see just about anyone jumping waves, cruising around, performing all sorts of tricks. The JetBoarder is capable of a top speed of 65 k/hr. You can double someone, hang ten, jump, carve and cruise.
After my first go I was hooked and the advantages of the JetBoarder over some other water sports are plenty. Unlike wakeboarding you don't need a $100,000 boat, a driver and observer to get on the water. You don't even need super smooth water like a water skier needs. It is easy to transport, can be launched just about anywhere, and it's also worth noting that the JetBoarder uses hardly any petrol when compared with most family boats.
JetBoarder attended most of the major boat shows around the world in 2010, and is set to attend even more Boat Shows in 2011. We have positioned the JetBoarder as the Ultimate Luxury Toy to complement the Sea Bob Cayago F7, and the Seabob Magnum. "It's not for everyone," advises Chris Kanyaro, "but neither is a new Sunseeker, Ferretti, or Azimut Motor Yacht."
