BELLEVUE, WA, March 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today several new improvements have been added to Sentri7, a web-based, enterprise-wide electronic surveillance application that helps hospital staff identify at-risk patients.
Pharmacy teams now have the option of a patient-by-patient workflow for use on rounds, and flow sheets to track medications and lab results over multiple days. Pharmacy users can also write rules against previous interventions and follow-up dates.
"These new workflow improvements in Sentri7 will make our anticoagulation monitoring process completely paperless," said Gerry Migaki, Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. "This will be a big help to us, as we want to remove paper from the process as much as possible."
The Infection Prevention module now has an auto-populating antibiogram and NHSN uploading capabilities for BSIs, SSIs, Procedures and ICU summary data. Procedure forms can be pre-populated with clinical data from OR feeds. New reports include MDROs, device-associated infections and SSIs by location; NHSN benchmark reports; and a standardized infection ratio (SIR) report for CLABSIs.
Sentri7 by Pharmacy OneSource combines medication, laboratory, patient, radiology and surgery data to facilitate earlier, better, and more consistent interventions. Accelerating workflows can lead to shorter lengths of stay, lower costs, improved patient safety and reduced antibiotic resistance... in short: speed saves lives.
