Announcing the winners of the first ever personal finance guest blogging contest, run by Credit Cards Canada, with a total of $3000 in prizes.

VANCOUVER, BC, March 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) The winner of the $1000 top prize in the first-ever Personal Finance Guest Blogging Contest is Kira Permunian, who wrote about "Highly Applicable Tips for Personal Finance Management".

"I believe that good personal finance management applies within our source of funds, our plans for the future finances and on how we solve monetary problems as soon as they pop up. By knowing those things, I am sure you can learn to take control of your finances by proper preparation. " writes Permunian

In all, 17 brave contestants entered, writing a guest post and promoting it on social networks, responding to comments and hoping to win the top prize. The Contest was sponsored by Credit Cards Canada, an online website that has been playing a leadership role in bringing personal finance advice and news to Canadians and Internet users in general.

The first and second runners up are Ileane Smith, who wrote about "5 Golden Rules of Money Management: A how-to guide for passing the financial torch", and Kiesha Keasley, who wrote about "7 Tricks I Use to Get More For Le$$". They each walk away with a $500 prize.

In addition to the 17 contestants, there were 30 sponsors, five of which served as judges. There were also hundreds of people who commented or voted for the entries at social websites like FaceBook, Digg and Twitter.

Guest blogging contests have proved popular over the past couple years, as guest blogging itself has become a new way for webmasters to reach out to new audiences. However, most guest blogging contests have focused on blogging itself; this was the first ever personal finance guest blogging contest.
