As part of their community outreach program, Underground Elephant sponsored and participated in the 14th Annual Humane Society Telethon on March 6th.
The leading online marketing company puts an emphasis on giving back to the San Diego community through its financial donations and volunteer work with local organizations.
As volunteers, Underground Elephant employees manned the telethon phone bank in order to help raise funds for the San Diego Humane Society. Every year, this telethon event proves to attract a loyal audience and generous donations; this year was no exception. An astonishing $190,000 was raised in phone pledges as well as the adoption of several great animals. All donations made will help transform the lives of animals and people in the San Diego community.
Underground Elephant's Director of Marketing, Lauren Alexander, presented the $2,500 donation check during the live telethon. As an active volunteer for the Humane Society's mobile adoption program for the past five years, Lauren helps to connect pets to people in local neighborhoods in San Diego.
The Humane Society promotes the fair treatment of animals, prevents animal cruelty, and provides education to grow the human-animal bond. They are a nonprofit organization and do not receive any government funding. Since 1880, they have been serving San Diego County, and have been solely supported by local contributors, such as Underground Elephant.
Media Manager, Rosaline Sutton stated, "I rescued both of my pets from the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA so not only was I proud to be part of Underground Elephant's team of telethon volunteers, I was also proud that we were helping a charity that I feel strongly about."
Underground Elephant was thrilled to have the opportunity to support this year's Telethon. They look forward to continuing their contributions to the San Diego Humane Society and being an active member of the San Diego community.
