Along with the traditional auction format, sellers now have the option of providing a 'Buy Now' price that allows buyers to instantly purchase the listing without having to waiting for the listing to expire naturally. How the 'Buy Now' feature works is really quite simple: When a seller creates a new listing, they have the option of providing a 'Buy Now' price. This price must be higher than the reserve price that the listing is set to start at, and when the listing becomes active both options are presented to potential buyers. If the 'Buy Now' price is acceptable to a motivated buyer, that buyer can quickly purchase the container listing and it is instantly removed from the auction. At this time, they buyer is emailed payment instructions and the seller is notified of the sale.
