ORANGE, CA, March 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) U.S. Census Bureau chooses Alteryx again as the premier technology partner to enable compressing and indexing of spatially-enabled U.S. Census demographic data. As Alteryx technology proved in delivering the 2000 Census, its incredible speed, simple interface, and advanced compression and indexing capabilities have streamlined the providing of this data to government agencies, academic institutions, and businesses for research and planning.
"We're very pleased to partner with the U.S. Census Bureau as a sole-source solution and commercial business partner," said Alteryx CEO Dean Stoecker. "Accessing, analyzing and out-of-the-box reporting of Census data with the efficiencies we deliver has become an expected and welcomed benefit for hundreds of thousands of Census data users. By including the many function upgrades, algorithms and features we've integrated into our software over the last 10 years, the Census Bureau's DVD product is poised to put the power of business analytics into the hands of thousands of new users."
Alteryx will release of new 2010 Census Redistricting Data (P.L. 94-171) on FreeDemographics and DemographicsNow starting in April, and later in the year as new data shipped with the Alteryx software Spatial Option. The Redistricting Data release will update population counts for race and housing unit counts by occupancy status (occupied units, vacant units) for all states. More detailed population counts and housing characteristics tallied by block-groups and census tracts will be made available from Alteryx after July and continuing into the fall.
The Alteryx product, and its software as a service offerings, FreeDemographics and DemographicsNow, when fueled with 2010 Census data will deliver out-of-the-box, critical information used extensively by corporations, market researchers, journalists, libraries, city planners, most state and county governments, and virtually every Congressional office. The unlimited-use licensing of this advanced technology, and the ease-of-use afforded by Alteryx, creates a new standard for searching, sorting, indexing, analyzing, and reporting of demographic data. The use of Alteryx as the deployment platform further positions the Census Bureau as the forerunner in national data dissemination that drives the economy for the U.S.
