Poly Tarps Are In High Demand Due To Current Natural Disasters
2011-03-11
PALMDALE, CA, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Many companies are involved in donating poly tarp to areas that have been wrecked by floods, hurricanes, tsunamis and other similar natural disasters. The need for poly tarps cannot be over emphasized in many areas of the world. More often than not there is an insufficient supply of this to these areas.

Even in areas where there are never any natural disasters households have poly tarps for general use around the home. In disaster areas one can see these been delivered to the grief stricken areas while watching TV. Even so, it will be difficult for TV viewers to see precisely the amount of tarps that are delivered to these spots.

When a disaster of this nature occurs it often happens that there is insufficient supply of this material to the areas. Manufacturers of poly tarps have to then work like crazy in order to make sure there is enough of this to go around. On TV one can see these been used as makeshift tents, medical areas, ground sheets and even to cover cavities in houses where there once were windows.

The leading U.S. tarps Tarps Plus stated, "Our poly tarp supply is very high right now so we can handle large tarp orders due to disasters."

It is not only in America that this happens, many third world countries are in dire need of help in this regard. In some third world countries, disaster or not tarps can be seen in locations as permanent housing fixtures. These are used as roofs and even as makeshift walls to tin shacks. Literally millions of homes are made in this way in the poorer areas of the world.

Some homes use tarps as curtains and others use them as protection from the sun. These are relatively inexpensive and this makes it affordable to many folk that are poor. As they are strong and versatile they suit many people in this situation.

As disaster strikes people will look to salvage the poly tarp first. Lean-tos and makeshift tents are the first things to be erected. Thankfully relief agencies play a hand in making these available to disaster areas.

Tarps plus is a world leader of poly tarps, canvas tarps & multi purpose covers.

Bankruptcy Filings Rise Nine Percent in 2010

2011-03-11
Bankruptcy Filings Rise Nine Percent in 2010 Despite reports of an improving economy, Americans are still overburdened with debt and seeking protection by filing for bankruptcy in record numbers. According to a report by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), 1.53 million Americans filed bankruptcy last year, a nine percent increase over the number of filings in 2009. While the nine percent increase is not nearly as impressive as the 35 percent jump in bankruptcy filings from 2008 to 2009, the sheer number of 2010 filings shows that economic recovery is slow going ...

Lawsuit Loans: Taking Advantage of the Injured?

2011-03-11
Lawsuit Loans: Taking Advantage of the Injured? A catastrophic injury impacts a person and his or her family well beyond the bumps, bruises and broken bones. Often, medical bills and wages lost during the recovery period can cause just as hardship as the physical pain. Unfortunately, the rent or mortgage payments, and utility and grocery bills are not put on hold while you wait to recover compensation through settlement or trial. These financial realities have given birth to a relatively new and controversial industry: lawsuit loans. A handful of companies engaged ...

Debt Settlement Companies Continue to Engage in Deceptive Practices

2011-03-11
Debt Settlement Companies Continue to Engage in Deceptive Practices Debt settlement companies are not supposed to engage in deceptive practices. Detailed government rules are designed to stop them from doing things like charging up-front fees that often leave debtors worse off, not better, or pushing their services aggressively through telemarketing. But despite new rules from the Federal Trade Commission, many unscrupulous debt consolidation companies continue to prey on vulnerable people. The Difference That an Attorney Can Make Consumers tempted by debt settlement ...

2011-03-11
Payday Loans Receive Another Look in the Texas Legislature More regulation of payday loans in Texas is currently being considered by the Texas Legislature. Multiple bills have been introduced that would alter how the payday loan business operates. A Senate committee considered a bill that would prevent companies from charging fees to arrange short-term consumer loan. Similar legislation is also pending in the House. Payday loan regulation, such as the bills in the Texas legislature, would effectively curtail a payday lender's ability to collect fees for short-term ...

2 Fall to Their Deaths at NYC Construction Site The two ironworkers who died after a five-story fall down an elevator shaft on a New York church construction site lacked even the most basic fall protection. Investigators believe Brett McEnroe, 49, and Roy Powell, 51, fell while they were installing steel beams in the elevator shaft and one of the beams gave way or shifted. A representative of the New York City Buildings Department, said it appeared that the workers did not have adequate fall protection, including harnesses, safety netting or a support platform. The study defines an adverse event as any type of "harm to a patient as a result of medical care." A New York ...
