Citrin Cooperman Honored Among Best Places To Work In New Jersey By NJBiz For 3rd Consecutive Year

With programs such as a paid sabbaticals, cash bonuses for those that earn their CPA, and formal maternity-leave policy, accounting firm Citrin Cooperman was chosen as a "best place" to work by a leading NJ business magazine.

2011-03-11
SPRINGFIELD, NJ, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Citrin Cooperman, a leading regional accounting and business consulting firm, was ranked as one of the "Best Places to Work in New Jersey" for the third consecutive year by NJBiz magazine, the firm announced today.

Citrin Cooperman was one of 41 firms honored in the large company category (250 + employees), and one of 70 firms honored overall. Last year, the firm was ranked No. 12 in the small/medium company category.

The NJBiz survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. In gaining the honor, Citrin Cooperman's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics were evaluated and its employees were surveyed to measure the employee experience.

Citrin Cooperman will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in New Jersey awards dinner on Thursday, April 26, 2010 at the Hilton East Brunswick. The final rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.

Among the many benefits at Citrin Cooperman are: a four-week paid sabbatical after six years employment, advanced leadership programs, cash bonuses for those that earn their CPA designation, a minimum of 100 hours of CPE training annually and bonuses based on accomplishments. The firm also has a formal maternity-leave policy, and curtailed working hours on days before major holidays.

The firm offers Citrin Cooperman University, a highly acclaimed continuing education program for young accountants; new hires are provided mentors to help them advance in the firm; and an International Work Exchange Program, offering professionals the opportunity to gain experience abroad, working with Moore Stephens affiliates.

"Our third consecutive NJBiz 'best places to work' honor is the result of programs we've implemented and fine-tuned with feedback from our staff," said Ed Horton, co-partner in charge of the firm's New Jersey office with Alex Serrano. "Our employees and professionals are among the best, brightest and most dedicated in the accounting industry, and work extremely hard on behalf of the clients they serve. Creating an environment in which they can grow and continue to be a valued part of the Citrin Cooperman family is a responsibility that management takes seriously."

Companies from across the state were evaluated through a two-part process. Part one included a review of each company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

Citrin Cooperman has grown from an $18 million firm in 2000 to a more than a $100 million operation in 2010 as it has been able to recruit and retain top talent in the accounting industry. The firm was also recently ranked among the best places to work by Crain's New York Business magazine and Accounting Today, a leading industry magazine.
