Hip Hop sensation EecMceE and Dance-Electro-Punk-hop favorite DJ Teenwolf (formerly of Ninja Sonik) have gotten into the studio together to bring forward a super-hype dance infused new single. It contains influences that can be found everywhere from The Black Eyed Peas to Kanye West and Far East Movement. With a catchy beat and hook, it screams "get on the dance floor now, let's kill this s*it!!" (Literally and figuratively) to listeners, and most will do exactly just that!Titled "Dat Thang", the single was released on all Amazon.com stores worldwide on March 5th 2010. And will be available in all iTunes stores worldwide, as well as Rhapsody, Lala, Shock hound, and Napster.com by March 15th 2010. The track is great for radio play, and party/club spins. It solidifies EecMceE in the pop-hip hop genre as a serious contender. The beat is infectious, catchy, and can hold its own as a stand-alone background or foreground beat to accompany visuals. EecMceE admits "my greatest strength is in writing songs and clever lyrics" but is sure to make it known that "I can definitely get the party jumpin', and I love to do it, I love to get jumpin' myself!"
EecMceE first hit the scene with his rap/hip-hop track "Rip Ya Torso" Feat. Copywrite in 2009, which sold copies worldwide through iTunes distribution. That same year he received placement in hip-hop tastemaker DJ Delz' mix tape: "East Coast Most Wanted", which featured other artists such as Maino, Eminem, Fabolous, and Neyo. The mix was distributed nationally.
DJ Teenwolf is best known for his work done in the groups "Sound Advice" whose album "play anything" received national recognition when praised by Rolling Stone Magazine in a review and "Ninja Sonik" who have been featured in The Village Voice, New York Times, and URB magazine. EecMceE (pronounced: E-C-M-C) aka Eric Chia, (born August 29 1982 in Cameroon, Africa) has been rapping since the age of 12. Born to a military surgeon and an international business woman, he was relocated from Africa to the USA in 1987 at the tender age of 5. His family lived there until 1990 before relocating again to New York City where he would acquire the basis for the greatest influence his life was to bring him -music. In 1993 they relocated once again, upstate, to Buffalo NY and there he spent the majority of his life. He grew up in the affluent suburb of Williamsville, and attended Williamsville East High School. This taught the youngster to be comfortable interacting with a diverse variety of people, and more importantly how to entertain them. He got his start free styling, and doing mini shows at house parties. This helped him mature into what is known as a 'real mc', meaning he can truly control/command a crowd. His persona projects a strong and confident image. Both in appearance and musically he references all styles of urban music - but keeps a focus in the hip-hop/dance/electronic genre(s).
First starting out as an unrelenting battle MC, he participated in a great deal of local rap competitions and cultivated a style that can range from simple, carefree, and easily digestible (as heard on his track 'Dat Thang') to fierce and highly lyrical (as heard on his track 'rip ya torso'). Managing to straddle both styles has been no problem to the seasoned vocalist. He maintains the belief that no listener is either "all dancing or all lyrics". The reasoning is that, fans tend to have moods or situations which induce them to listen to different styles of music, and he thus caters to that. It works well because all styles he incorporates fall under his personal mantra "I'm fly till I die", and this attitude is prevalent in almost all styles of urban music today. Whether its lyrics about being up in the sky, dressing fly, being fly on the dance floor, being 'high', not coming down, living in the moment for life, or love & heartbreak, they all can be expressed in his music. He truly understands his audience and how they themselves adopt this same attitude.
This has developed into a fresh sound incorporating dance as well as hip hop, r&b, and some rock influences, with new as well as classic rap styles, dance floor influenced cadences/ song topics, and fresh indelible swagger, to create honest, introspective songs, catchy patterns, and flat out danceable tunes. He garnered much respect in the underground hip hop circuit with tracks like "rip ya torso", "warriors", and "silent weapons" along with his entertaining stage show, which has provided him opportunities to open up the stage for the top artists in the genre (Cage, Lords of The Underground, The Boot Camp Click, Daedelus, Chip Tha Ripper, Machine Gun Kelly, C Rayz Walz, Busdriver, R.A. The Rugged Man, and more). Having contributions from some of Hip-Hop music's most well respected and critically acclaimed does not hurt either. He has worked with the best in the industry, collaborating alongside hip hop legends such as Copywrite of MHZ and formerly of the Underground hip hop super group, The Weathermen, and FredOnes of the electro hip hop/rock band 'Sonic Sum" (Definitive Jux Records). In the year 2000 EecMceE self-released an EP in Buffalo, NY which got a lot of attention. Since then he has mostly 'laid low' and focused on obtaining a college degree. In 2008 he remerged to release "rip ya torso" Feat. Copywrite, it's a battle rap influenced single with 'eminem-ish' quality verbal acrobatics. The single has gotten internet radio play, sold copies in all itunes stores worldwide, and continues to sell.
The lyrics and use of dynamic textures in his music make him a stand out from other rappers. Using a variety of techniques, EecMceE displays intelligent processes in the writing, recording and performance aspects. It only takes one listen to songs such as the auto-biographical party track "All My Life" to realize that EecMceE brings something unique, new, and fresh to the table.
