KANSAS CITY, MO, March 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Biggest Little Law Firm in Kansas City, Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C., was retained by The Rieger (www.theriegerkc.com), located at 1924 Main Street, to manage its entity formation, real estate lease, purchase of assets and liquor license.
The hotel was originally opened in 1915 by Alexander Rieger, the son of Jacob Rieger, who was the founder of J. Rieger & Co. Whiskey. Ryan Maybee and Howard Hanna, co-owners of The Rieger, said that "We have worked very hard to maintain the historical memory of The Rieger Hotel. The level of quality and care in the food and the restaurant are all part of the culture and our commitment to cultivating the urban core. We hope everyone will take advantage of this new restaurant." Reservations can be made by calling The Rieger at 816.471.2177.
Maybee added that the liquor license was one of the several corporate issues that they had Van Osdol & Magruder P.C. handle prior to their opening on December 18, 2010. "We would have started a lot sooner with Van Osdol & Magruder," said Maybee. "The negotiation of assets with the previous owner and bank consumed more time than we originally expected. The liquor license was only part of the challenge, but we are very excited to have the restaurant and bar serving Kansas City," said Maybee, who also owns Manifesto, the downstairs bar.
Shawn Stogsdill, a partner at Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C., said "My advice to any business owner is to start working as early as possible on liquor licenses. This process involves a long checklist and can take longer than expected."
Stogsdill commented that Van Osdol & Magruder is very excited to have The Rieger and Manifesto in Kansas City and wants to thank Ryan and Howard for their investment in the downtown area. "Congratulations Ryan and Howard for an extremely successful opening. We hope to see them prosper and grow in Kansas City for many years to come," said Stogsdill.
Van Osdol & Magruder, P.C., is located in Downtown Kansas City, Mo. Trademarked as The Biggest Little Law Firm in Kansas City, the firm focuses on maximizing value for its clients while remaining mindful of legal expenses. The firm's lawyers have a wide range of skills and backgrounds and concentrate on being part of successful outcomes for individuals, businesses and their owners and employees and top-notch nonprofit organizations.
