Designing Tests for Your LMS?
2011-03-15
BRISTOL, CT, March 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Are you creating online training? Does your company have an LMS? Have you started to create tests and track individual performance? Do you know HOW to create a test? Most people don't. It's more than asking 20 questions. It's both a science and an art. In order to truly determine whether or not someone has learned what you've taught, test questions must follow certain rules (9 to be exact) in order to be accurate and equitable.

The Training Doctor, an instructional design firm with offices on the US east coast, is offering a 3-hour webinar titled: Designing Tests for your LMS. It is geared toward training professionals who are implementing tests, certificates or qualifications as the final part of their training offerings.

Poorly designed tests can open up an organization to accusations of discrimination or bias from people who "fail" and suffer workplace consequences as a result (loss of job, loss of promotions, etc.).

The webinar will cover:
- Nine "rules" for creating good, fair tests
- The types of test questions that can be used in the workplace - and when they are best used
- How to fairly design various types of questions
- The use of pre-tests, post-tests and alternate tests

This is a highly interactive webinar which will involve attendees in taking sample tests in order to identify what is a "well crafted question" and allow them to practice creating test questions that follow the rules of validity and reliability. A 16 page workbook is included.

When: April 12, 2011
Time: 12n - 3p eastern
Cost: $169 per person (group discounts available)
