The event is due to take place between October 6th and 10th 2010 under the theme "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika: Harmony in Diversity", the national motto of Indonesia.

Authors from a wide array of destinations, including China, France, South Africa, the UK and the US, have confirmed their attendance at the festival, with Louis de Bernieres among the famous faces set to appear.

The writer, who is best known for the internationally acclaimed Captain Corelli's Mandolin, will share stories and ideas with festival-goers over the five days.

While he is arguably the star turn, de Bernieres is just one of more than 100 literary names from 22 different nations who will take to the stage throughout the event.

Organisers have put a tiered pricing system in place to ensure that Indonesian writers, as well as those from overseas, can afford to attend the various activities.

International visitors can get in on each day for 2.8 million Indonesian rupiah (GBP199), while locals only need to pay 400,000 Indonesian rupiah.
