Ohio St., Chicago; (312) 329-9463) is hosting Truchard Vineyards at a wine dinner 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 18—showcasing five exceptional wines from the Carneros region of Napa Valley with spokesperson Anthony Truchard II. Truchard Vineyards wines are hand-crafted using traditional, unique winemaking techniques— exemplifying the high-quality fruit.
The first course is Sauteed Mussels paired with Truchard Chardonnay Napa Valley, 2009. The second course is Mushroom Ravioli paired with Truchard Pinot Noir Napa Valley, 2007 followed by Herbed Lamb paired with Truchard Syrah Napa Valley, 2007. The fourth course is a delicious six-ounce Beef Flemington and baby carrots paired with Truchard Zinfandel Napa Valley, 2007. The dinner concludes with Sour Cream Pound Cake with poached pear paired with Truchard Roussanne Botrytis Napa Valley, 2006.
The dinner is $95 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) and includes Truchard wine selections paired with the special five-course meal created by Fleming's Chef Jerl Griffin. About Anthony Truchard II
Anthony Truchard II has experienced every aspect of winemaking, working on the vineyards and in the cellars alongside his father—founder Tony Truchard.
Anthony received his Bachelor Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara where he studied philosophy and biology.
Working in boutique wine shops and restaurants, Anthony was able to interact with wine lovers and further develop his wine expertise. Anthony successfully managed a vineyard management company with his brother for several years before deciding to obtain his law degree from Cardozo School of Law.
Eventually, Anthony returned home to Napa Valley to help manage the winery and has led the expansion of Truchcard Vineyards.
