SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Jeffrey Reisner, a partner in the Newport Beach office of Irell & Manella, will be inducted as a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy on March 18. Forty inductees from the U.S. and abroad are being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions in the fields of bankruptcy and insolvency. Reisner is one of only five fellows selected from the Ninth Circuit.

Reisner is the head of Irell's Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights practice group, representing companies and high net-worth individuals in connection with the reorganization of their financial affairs, and as creditors of others in financial distress. Reisner also represents creditors' committees, acquirers of assets, investors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and out of court restructurings throughout the U.S.
Highly recognized by the legal industry and community, Reisner was recently appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Bankruptcy Task Force and has been included in the 2010 and 2011 editions of The Best Lawyers in America. He was also as one of Corporate Counsel's 2010 Top Lawyers for bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights law. In addition, he has been named to the "Southern California Super Lawyers" list by Los Angeles Magazine every year since 2004 and has been recognized as a leading bankruptcy/restructuring lawyer by Chambers & Partners in its Chambers USA Leading Lawyers for Business Guide every year since 2006. Reisner was also named by Orange Coast Magazine as a "Top Lawyer of America" in 2006.
The American College of Bankruptcy's criteria for selection include: the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice; sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing or writing on bankruptcy or insolvency; and commitment to elevate knowledge and understanding of the profession and public respect for the practice. Nominees for Fellows are extended an invitation to join based on a record of achievement reflecting the highest standards of professionalism. The College now has approximately 760 fellows, each selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations of the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit and specially appointed Committees for Judicial and Foreign Fellows.
