PARIS, FRANCE, March 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) A run of performances by The Bolshoi Ballet in Paris will be a treat for fans of the genre.
The company will be on stage showcasing one programme from May 5th to May 15th 2011 and a second production from May 10th until May 14th, with all the action taking place at the Palais Garnier.
Flammes de Paris and Don Quixote will be acted out by dancers from the Russian arts institution.
While the former is a dramatic piece set during the French revolution, the latter is a classic of the ballet canon.
Alexei Fadeechev's 1999 reimagining of the story will be performed.
The Paris Opera Orchestra will provide the accompaniment from music by Boris Asafiev.
As one of the oldest and best ballet companies in the world, the visiting group are sure to entertain newcomers and veterans of such shows.
