Fat Cat Sportfishing "FAT CAT" a Premier NJ Charter Fishing Boat took 1st Place at the 2009 Cape May, NJ South Jersey Shark Tournament. Fat Cat brought to the scales an impressive 590lb Thresher Shark to win the Heaviest Shark Catagory.

NEPTUNE, NJ, March 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Fat Cat Sportfishing "FAT CAT" a Premier NJ Charter Fishing Boat took 1st Place at the 2009 Cape May, NJ South Jersey Shark Tournament. Fat Cat brought to the scales an impressive 590lb Thresher Shark to win the Heaviest Shark Catagory.

The angler, Billy Boardman, from Rumson, NJ reeled in this 590lb Thresher in an hour and half long battle. The FAT CAT Captain, Capt. Steve King, noted that "it was a complete team effort from the entire 6 person experienced crew that landed this fish". Capt. King also noted "that preparation of tackle and the boat start month's before the tournament". The total purse for this fish was $35,062.50.

FAT CAT charter boat is a 34FT Catamaran designed to cut though rough water with superior performance and unmatched stability. The Vessel is equipped with all the latest electronics, safety equipment and most importantly state of the art fishing tackle. Tackle is custom built using top of the line rods and reels. Extensive use is made of lures, teasers and various bait rigs ensuring the very best fishing. FAT CAT is powered by twin 370 hp Cummins diesels allowing cruising speeds of up to 30 knots and a 3 1/2 hour ride to Canyon (conditions permitting). A large rear deck with plenty of fishing area complement the vessel which is also equipped with a cabin complete with toilet and fully room to sleep up to six people.
