Ragsdale Liggett Names James L. Conner II Partner in the Law Firm

Mr. Conner heads the health care litigation and the environmental law practice groups. Ragsdale Liggett PLLC is one of the most respected law firms in North Carolina. About James L. Conner II, Partner:
Jim Conner represents clients in environmental law, health care law, administrative law and commercial litigation using his extensive knowledge and background in litigation as well as legislative and regulatory matters. Mental health providers, real estate developers, construction companies, professionals with licensing disputes and title insurance companies are among his clients. Jim recently won a decision from the Court of Appeals that will fundamentally change the way Medicaid mental health issues are handled in North Carolina.

Jim is a former Administrative Law Judge, and uses that experience, his dispute resolution training and his years of litigation to fight for clients in courts at every level. He brings this experience to bear for the benefit of his environmental law, health care law and litigation clients. Perhaps most significantly, Judge Conner brings his time on the bench to his mediation practice, understanding not only the law but the judicial perspective, and using that knowledge to help parties find negotiated solutions. Jim has been a certified mediator since 1994 and is also a certified arbitrator. He has been inducted into the North Carolina Academy of Superior Court Mediators and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Judge Conner received his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law after earning a bachelor's degree cum laude in botany from Duke University. A member of the NC Bar Association, Jim is serving his third term as a council member for the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section of the NC Bar Association. Jim is a frequent speaker at NC Bar Association CLEs and other professional events.
