EDISON, NJ, March 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has announced its calibration laboratory in Nagoya, Japan has gained initial accreditation to the international ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Teseq Japan is the sixth of the company's seven worldwide facilities that calibrate EMC equipment to achieve this accreditation.
In addition to accredited calibration, the Nagoya laboratory is also certified to offer field calibrations and traceable (non-accredited) calibrations according to the full factory specifications of Teseq instrumentation. Calibration of other manufacturer's equipment may also be provided.
According to the A2LA, ISO/IEC 17025 contains all of the requirements that testing and calibration laboratories have to meet if they wish to demonstrate that they operate a management system, are technically competent and are able to generate technically valid results. This latest accreditation demonstrates Teseq's continued commitment to provide an exceptional level of customer support, and wherever possible, to offer services in local regions and languages.
In Japan, many organizations offer both accredited and non-accredited calibration services. However, there are substantial benefits to having test equipment calibrated by the manufacturer. Additional services such as hardware, software and firmware updates may be carried out at the same time, and if an instrument is out of specification, only the manufacturer is qualified to perform repairs and adjustments. Additionally, when original packaging is no longer available, Teseq-specific packaging can be supplied to ensure safe transportation between the calibration laboratory and the customer.
Teseq's production facilities in Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom are accredited by SCS, DAkkS and UKAS, respectively. Sales and support offices in the United States and Singapore are already accredited for calibration services by A2LA.
The Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025-2005 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 for Teseq's calibration laboratory in Nagoya is available from Teseq or on the A2LA homepage (Certificate Number 2127.03) and covers parameters from IEC/EN61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC/EN61000-4-4 (Burst), IEC/EN61000-4-6 (Conducted RF), IEC/EN61000-4-5 (Surge), IEC/EN61000-4-11 (PQT), ISO10605 (Automotive ESD) and ISO7637 (Automotive Transient) as well as other Electrical DC/Low Frequency and RF/Microwave parameters. Please refer to the scope of accreditation for the full listing of parameters and measurement uncertainties.
