Comrise Partners with Monmouth Ocean County Food Bank for a Food Drive

HAZLET, NJ, March 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) To help members of the Hazlet community, Comrise partnered with Monmouth-Ocean County Food Bank for the month of February and organized a food drive. Comrise was able to collect 500 lbs. of food for donation to the Mouth Ocean County Food Bank worth over $500. The Comrise Community Committee serves as an avenue for Comrise employees, consultants, clients and local community members to have the opportunity to serve their local community. The Comrise food Drive is just one of many community initiatives to which Comrise has committed itself for the year.

Recent statistics show that 6.7 million U.S. households have very low food security. Comrise felt that this food drive was an imperative step towards fixing this problem, and providing not only security but good health to homes in the region.

Ellen Koment of the Monmouth Ocean County Food Bank had the following to say about Comrise's efforts: "We are proud of the efforts made by Comrise to collect much needed food items for the many who continue t suffer from the effects of hunger. It is only with community partners like Comrise that the food bank can continue to distribute food to those in need."

Comrise HR Director Ann Marie McGoldrick describes her experience with the food drive as, "Between the generosity of the Comrise staff and Comrise, we hopefully were able to make a difference in the lives of people in need. We look forward to doing more such events in the near future." Comrise wants to be able to help not only on a local level but also to leverage our global presence to help communities outside the U.S.

The Comrise Community Outreach Program aims to serve as a model to other organizations interested in social responsibility, taking steps toward bettering the community economically, educationally, and environmentally.
