CHARLESTON, SC, March 30, 2011 (Press-News.org) Grill Charms swam with the sharks on ABC's hit show "Shark Tank" back in September of 2009 and received multiple investment offers to help fund future growth.
A feeding frenzy ensued when company president and Grill Charms inventor Leslie Haywood pitched her case for $50,000 to the show's panel of five venture capitalists. Four of the five Sharks made three separate offers but Haywood chose to accept $50,000 from Robert Herjavec, a successful Internet and technology mogul, in exchange for 25% equity in the company.
Since the show aired the Grill Charms business has flourished and on Friday, April 1 2011, her follow up segment will air at 8:00 EST on Season II of ABC's Shark Tank giving an update on what has happened between her, her company and her shark since the deal.
"I am truly in awe of the support I received from the Robert, the public, as well as the media" says Haywood. "I never dreamed that a stay at home mom from the suburbs of Charleston, SC could come up with a crazy idea and get this far in the male dominated sport of grilling!"
The company currently offers four different collections of charms: Steak Collection, Spicy Collection, Charmed Life Collection and the Pink Collection which gives 10% of proceeds to breast cancer charities. Each collection retails for $19.95. Grill Charms are available for purchase on the company's website at http://www.GrillCharms.com or at specialty stores across the country as listed on the site.
Haywood made her first appearance on "Shark Tank" on Tuesday, September 29th 2009. The show airs Fridays 8:00 PM EST/ 7:00 PM CST on the ABC Television Network.
Leslie Haywood is available for interviews, for details please visit http://www.grillcharms.com
