LONG BEACH, CA, March 30, 2011

The Cellar was Elizabeth Taylor's favorite OC dining destination and was, in fact, where Richard Burton proposed to the legendary screen star...the 2nd time. In honor of her memory, the critically acclaimed Fullerton restaurant is offering a prix fixe dinner of her favorite foods with all profits benefiting the actresses' favorite cause, American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR). The $50 per person, 4-course dinner available April 1-3 and will include:

First Course:
Classic Escargot with shallots, white wine, mushrooms, butter and pastis

Second Course:

Classic Caesar Salad with gourmet anchovies and herbed croutons
Third Course:
Filet Steak Oscar with Hollandaise resting on potato puree and fresh asparagus

Fourth Course:
Chocolate Mousse with fresh berries

"I've long known that Ms. Taylor loved dining at The Cellar so I called our former Maitre D' and she gave me a rundown on a list of her favorite menu items," said proprietor Ryan Dudley. "I hope to honor her memory by benefiting a cause that was close to her heart."

Founded in 1985 and brought into national prominence, in part by Taylor, AmFAR's mission is to prevent HIV infection and to protect the human rights of all people threatened by the epidemic of HIV/AIDS.

Space is limited and reservations are recommended by calling (714) 525-5682. The Cellar is located at 305 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton CA 92832.

The Cellar has been an Orange County institution since it opened its doors in 1970. Its Old World charm as realized by the craftsmen who built Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean sets the perfect backdrop to a world class dining experience emphasizing the finest in classical French cuisine. The reinterpretations of classic French recipes and attention to detail have earned the restaurant critical acclaim. Visit http://www.cellardining.com.
