- The owner can activate an audio message announcing to all within hearing distance that the laptop was stolen, essentially allowing the computer to sound its own distress signal and shout for help. Owners can even create their own custom message to yell at the thief.
- The owner can also send a message that appears on the boot-up screen and attempt to communicate in real time with whoever has the computer and negotiate its safe return.
For those who wish for even more options for recovering a lost or stolen laptop, FrontDoorSoftware Corporation also has a deluxe service which includes a geo-tracking mechanism. Should someone boot-up a stolen computer and attempt to access the Internet, the computer will try to pinpoint its location on a Google Map and send that location to the rightful owner.
