TUCSON, AZ, April 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Cole Sileven, Owner of Low-Insurance.org's insurance quote service, was amazed by the results found throughout the week. Sileven states, "Out of the responses received there were many who haven't shopped for years. One person in fact has never shopped for insurance. He was placed on his Parent's policy and has been with the same Agent for over 20 years. "
Another contributor mentioned how they never shop because they love the service offered by their current Insurer and price wasn't really a concern for them. Even today service still will outweigh price for many. Most of our feedback revealed that average people who shop typically request two to three insurance quotes for comparison review.
According to the California Department of Insurance there are 156 private passenger auto insurance carriers providing coverage to drivers in California. In New York we found 174 Auto Insurers. Just to be clear these are companies who provide the coverage, not Agents. Many of the Insurers listed serve most states throughout the U.S. so regardless of where you live; there are a variety of options available. Many of these companies are rated 'A' or higher by A.M Best, a company who rates the financial strength of these companies. So with so many options why are shoppers settling for the best rate offered by 1 of 3 agents quoted and why are those satisfied with their rate not comparing quotes for better coverage?
Insurance shopping isn't as much of a drag as it once way. In fact, the internet has made it pretty simple. What is the easiest way to compare insurance rates between companies?
Generally Independent Agents have the best ability to compare quotes between several companies. There are two markets that Independent Agents generally focus on - usually focusing on either one or the other. Standard markets represent low risk individuals while sub-standard agents help those who are considered to be a higher risk due to less experience behind the wheel or having a few marks on their driving history. Each of these Agents may represent as many as 30 insurance companies. Some of the same carriers will be represented by both Agents while each agent may also represent a few Insurers that the other does not. This is where the true value of online comparison shopping comes to play by offering shoppers a way to request multiple quotes from a few agents simultaneously.
Low Insurance and Security is an online and local comparison shopping service built to help customers review multiple from local Agents or quotes from top insurance carriers online.
