Carcoon Workstation: Solution to New EPA Paint Rule

As of January 2011, if you're not in compliance with the new EPA Rule you will be fined up to $5,000.00.

2011-04-06
BOCA RATON, FL, April 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) The "Paint Rule" is creating quite a stir in the Automotive Paint Industry with its January 2011 deadline for compliance. Carcoon Workstation, a new product on the market, is perfectly positioned to solve all the "Mobile painters" and many of the paint shop's needs for complying with the new EPA regulations.

Auto body shops, dealerships, and auto maintenance shops have used a number of locations to paint cars in the past: outdoors, in curtained areas, mobile auto repair vehicles, in a proper paint booth; many of these methods are no longer an option according to the new EPA rule 40CFR63 Subpart HHHHHH (6H). "Painting has to occur within a controlled environment."

The agency's main objective is to significantly lessen the amount of HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) released into the environment during paint stripping or surface coating operations. These toxic chemicals represent significant risk to employee health if proper engineering and administrative controls are not in place.

David Bernard, owner of Carcoon USA sells a Carcoon Workstation. It is a unique patented concept that provides a fully functional and portable paint booth/workstation used for a variety of purposes such as minor body repair and painting, prep station and car detailing. It is comprised of three chambers with high performance filters that ensure that airborne solvents are absorbed before the air is released into the environment, regardless of outside weather conditions.

"The Carcoon Workstation works like a charm, every auto body show I talk to is on board the second they see the product demonstration," says David.

Setup takes about ten minutes, fully inflates in three minutes.

The EPA allowed existing facilities until January 9, 2011 to comply, which means mobile technicians and paint and body shops must be compliant right now to ensure that their paint spray operations meet the new codes, or risk facing fines of up to $5000.00.
