MADRID, SPAIN, April 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Young Ribera at Madrid's El Prado showcases the finest pieces by a Spanish-born painter who spent much of his working life in Italy.
Jose de Ribera was a 17th century artist whose style was heavily influenced by Caravaggio.
He used this form of painting to revisit subjects such as the Apostles and portray them in a new manner.
The exhibition, which runs until July 31st 2011, includes works such as the Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew and The Preliminaries for Crucifixion.
It has been split into four sections to allow attendees to explore the different style of paintings he produced over the course of his life.
A representative from the gallery explained: "It was during his time in Parma, Rome and his early years in Naples that Ribera studied and rethought the language of naturalism.
"The exhibition focuses on this period."
Visitors can find the display in Room C of the Jeronimos Building.
Tickets to see the installation cost EUR10 (GBP8.80). Opening hours are from 09:00 to 20:00 local time from Tuesday to Sunday.
If art fans want to find Madrid hotels for their visit, they can browse through a wide range of options on LateRooms.com, including the Westin Palace Madrid.

High Schools Cautious About Brain Injuries to Teen Athletes
2011-04-09
The NFL's recent high profile measures to reduce the risks of concussions to players brought well deserved attention to an important subject. As important as this development is for professional athletes, the problem among teen athletes might be characterized ...
Getting a Divorce? Watch Out for Hidden Assets
2011-04-09

In many marriages, one spouse handles all financial matters while the other is not involved, not informed and possibly not even interested in money management. This may work well during the marriage, but during divorce both spouses need a full and accurate understanding of each other's assets and liabilities.
Hidden assets can affect the ...
Automobile Black Boxes: A Reliable Source of Motor Vehicle Accident Data
2011-04-09
The Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 2010, which would have made "black box" technology mandatory in all vehicles sold in the U.S. by 2015, never made it beyond committee approval in the House of Representatives. Nonetheless, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that event data recorders (EDRs), which store data on a vehicle's speed, braking activity, engine RPMs and sometimes even seat belt use, are installed in 85 percent of all cars currently on American roads.
This advanced technology can prove extremely useful in motor vehicle accident litigation, ...
