New Orleans' Deanie's Seafood celebrates crawfish season with Pinch-A-Palooza featuring Mindless Behavior and Kourtney Heart

2nd-annual event April 16 showcases crawfish specialties, crawfishing-eating contest plus Interscope Records artists Mindless Behavior and Jive Records singer/songwriter Kourtney Heart during the heart of New Orleans' festival season

2011-04-09
NEW ORLEANS, LA, April 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Five bands will liven the festivities as Deanie's Seafood celebrates the bounty of our favorite crustacean during the second-annual Pinch-A-Palooza Crawfish Eating Contest on Sat., April 16 at Deanie's Seafood in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., Metairie. Festivities kick off at 3 p.m.

Five bands will perform, including Interscope Records recording artist Mindless Behavior, the hottest new supergroup on the national music scene; 17-year-old Jive Records recording artist Kourtney Heart of New Orleans, whose debut album Eye Dee Kay follows her hit single "My Boy"; Baton Rouge's Black Magnolia performing a blend of blues, classic rock and modern rock; original Southern Blues rock band The Auto-Pilots of Houma; and Metairie rock cover band Breakwater Drive.

Deanie's Seafood has partnered with Citadel Broadcasting of New Orleans, including Old School 106.7 FM, Power 102.9 FM, Rock 92.3 FM and True Oldies 106.1 FM, to celebrate what has been a plentiful 2011 Crawfish Season. Contest winners from each station will compete with their favorite Morning show personalities to eat as much crawfish as they can in 10 minutes.

Participating on-air celebrities include Rock 92.3's Morning Show hosts Ginty & Brady, Old School 106.7's LBJ and Kelder, Power 102.9's Morning Show host Big Abe, and True Oldies 106.1's Morning Show host, Jim Hanzo. Each celebrity DJ will compete with a "family" or "team" of four radio listeners. Enter to win a team on http://www.deanies.com or by visiting Deanie's in Bucktown.

"No one celebrates crawfish like Louisianans, and there is no better place than Bucktown to honor that local tradition with a new tradition, Pinch-A-Palooza," said Darren Chifici of Deanie's Seafood.

The Pinch-A-Palooza menu includes boiled crawfish, fried crawfish tails, crawfish balls, crawfish etouffee, and fried crawfish po-boys. A selection of Budweiser beer will be served.

The Lineup includes:
· Interscope Records recording artist Mindless Behavior, currently on tour with Janet Jackson as the sole supporting act for 12 dates of her Number Ones: Up Close & Personal tour. Barely into their teens, the quartet's energetic fusion of pop, hip hop, and R&B has put them in the spotlight, performing with the likes of Justin Bieber, the Backstreet Boys and Jason Derulo since their debut in 2008.
· Jive Records recording artist Kourtney Heart, the 17-year-old singer songwriter from New Orleans whose music spans R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop. Kourtney continues to achieve excellence in the music industry, headlining her own concerts, performing at multiple NBA Hornets games and opening concerts for platinum-selling artists such as Kelly Price, Trey Songz, and Chrisette Michelle.
· A young fresh driving force in today's music scene, the Auto-Pilots sweat Rock 'n' Roll from their pores and their sound begs to be heard. An original Southern Blues rock band, they are old friends who have been playing together since the early teens years in Houma. Their influences range from Kings of Leon to The Rolling Stones to Foo Fighters to Led Zeppelin. Their sound is a melting pot of classic rock, punk and contemporary alternative.
· Four-piece Baton Rouge band Black Magnolia performs a blend of blues, classic rock and modern rock—think Soundgarden meets Led Zeppelin. The thundering bass and drums, the in-your-face guitar riffs, and the soaring high tenor vocals grab a hold of you and bring you for a ride that you didn't expect to take. Black Mag has a sound and a presence that just doesn't make you a fan, it makes you loyal.
· Breakwater Drive, performing classic rock standards.

Quality local crawfish is plentiful now, and the restaurant offers popular crawfish dishes including: Deanie's Famous Boiled Crawfish prepared with Deanie's Signature Creole Seasonings, Fried Crawfish Tails, Crawfish Etouffee, Fried Crawfish Po-Boy,
Crawfish Duo ~ Fried Crawfish & Crawfish Etouffee (Lunch), and Crawfish Quartet ~ Fried Crawfish, Crawfish Etouffee, Crawfish Dressing (Dinner).
