ATLANTA, GA, April 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) Coggins International announced today their award of the DLA Energy BSM-E formal training contract—to provide instructional support, course development and support services for the Base Level FuelsManager Defense (FMD) applications, FMD 6.0, FuelsManager Defense Express (FMDE), a web-enabled application, and all associated applications and interfaces, within the BSM-E architecture. The objective of formal instructional support, whether in a classroom or regional environment, is to maintain currency and efficiency of all DLA Energy customers (military, civilian and interdepartmental) of the BSM-E Program and to train all students on approved lesson plans for authorized courses for the program approved by DLA Energy DFSP Support Branch.
The transition from the previous contractor to Coggins International was minimal, thanks to the outstanding support of DLA Energy and the hard work and dedication of the training team. The first Joint (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) BSM-E Basic Course commenced on January 3, 2011—just two weeks after award, with three full classes underway by the 10th. All classes were completed with high reviews from the students as demonstrated in their course evaluations. One student gained so much from his experience that he elected to stay on to take the one-week Terminal Managers and Responsible Officers course.
At the heart of this training program is an ensemble of the best-of-the-best in the industry, a core group who have worked together closely over the years in support of DLA Energy and the Warfighter. Keith Coggins pioneered the program in 1996 and with the assistance of his elite team, it was an incredible success. Fast forward 15 years to a new and improved training program with Wayne Hooper, Director of Training and Scott Pustejovsky, Training Coordination Manager at the helm, along with instructors Donna Combs, Kevin Charles, and Brett Zawadzki. Their combined experience and knowledge ensures the highest level of training for the students.
"My instructor, Kevin Charles, really knows the government rules and regulations as well as defense fuels management software. After my one-week RO class, I left with an in-depth understanding of what I'm responsible for and the monetary value of my account," says Dennis Stell—Ebbing ANG, R.O.
Set to host over 1,000 military and government personnel annually, Coggins International's world-class training facility is ideally situated within walking distance to mass transit (MARTA Rail), a heavy concentration of hotels and government-approved lodging, dining, shopping and entertainment. The training facility, located in the prestigious Terminus complex in the heart of Buckhead-Atlanta, offers many on-site amenities including name brand restaurants, sundries & cleaners, car wash, shoe shine and health club. Just a quick MARTA ride away, are all of Atlanta's local attractions such as the Coca-Cola Museum, the Georgia Aquarium, Phillips Arena and Turner Stadium, Underground Atlanta, and Centennial Olympic Park. It looks like the Coggins International BSM-E Formal Training Program will be a major success.
