'Soave Month at Eataly' to introduce More American Wine Lovers to Italy's Favorite White Wine

2011-04-14
BROOKLYN, NY, April 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) April 12, Brooklyn, NY- Cantina di Soave (www.cantinasoaveusa.com), will be showcased in May at New York City's Eataly for 'Soave Month at Eataly,' a month-long celebration of Italy's favorite white wine. Cantina di Soave was recently named a "Rising Star" brand by Cheers magazine for its "exceptional growth." The newly launched Re Midas Soave and the award-winning, estate-grown Rocca Sveva will be served by the glass at the six Eataly restaurants, poured at the Soave Bar in Eataly's La Piazza and tasted in the Eataly Wine Store on select weekends in May. Cantina di Soave Export Director Luca Sabatini will also lead a seminar on Soave and other Cantina di Soave wines at Eataly's La Scuola on Tuesday, May 3rd (ticket information available here).

"We're very excited to have the opportunity to sample our wines at Eataly, the mecca of Italian cuisine in New York - in fact in all of America," said Bruno Trentini, General Manager, Cantina di Soave. "And May is the perfect time for Soave, a delicious wine for picnics, barbeques and summer entertaining."

Cantina di Soave, which launched in the US in 2010, has introduced three brands—Duca del Frassino, Re Midas and Rocca Sveva— in this market. In just over one year in the U.S., the company has quickly become a leader in the Soave category as well as an innovator having launched the first wine-in-a-box from Italy in the US, Duca del Frassino. Duca launched in 2010 with the Cabernet/Corvina and Garganega/Pinot

Grigio blends. Just last month, Cantina di Soave introduced two new blends, Durello/Chardonnay and Pinot Noir/Merlot.

The wines of Cantina di Soave - Duca del Frassino, Re Midas and Rocca Sveva- are imported by MW Imports and are currently available at chain stores, fine wine retailers, and restaurants across the US. For sales and other inquiries, please contact Elizabeth Kane Tate [ekane@cantinasoaveusa.com].

About Cantina di Soave
Cantina di Soave was founded in 1898 by a group of vine growers and wine producers who joined forces in order to improve production quality and bring unsurpassed value to consumers. The winery was organized to follow all steps from vineyard management and winemaking to marketing and sales in order to ensure that each member-grower would obtain optimal results. Today over 2,200 farmers are members of the cooperative and more than 14,800 acres are under vine, 70% of which are within DOC and DOCG zones. From its six wineries located throughout the Soave zone, Cantina di Soave makes a variety of award-winning indigenous wines from the region of Veneto including Soave, Valpolicella Ripasso, and Amarone.
