Cary Magazine Teams Up with The Container Store for Holiday Organization Contest

Register by Sept. 17 for a Chance to Win a $500 Holiday Decoration Makeover

2010-09-11
CARY, NC, September 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) After the halls have been un-decked and the tinsel tucked away, many closets, chests, makeshift boxes, basements and attics serve as haphazard storage space for decorations until the next holiday season rolls around. Now, Cary Magazine is partnering with The Container Store , the original storage and organization store, to offer one lucky Western Wake County household the opportunity to win a holiday decoration makeover valued at up to $500.

Cary Magazine readers and fans can seek relief through the Holiday Decoration Makeover Contest. To register to win, contestants can visit http://www.carymagazine.com/holidaymakeover, fill out an online entry form explaining in 250 words or less how disorganized their holiday decorations are, and upload an illustrative photo. The contest is open to residents of Western Wake County from now until midnight on Sept. 17.

A panel of judges will determine the winner from the nominations received. An organization expert from The Container Store will then go to the winner's home, diagnose the organizational dilemma, prescribe a storage solution, and perform a free holiday decoration makeover.

"We can't wait to see how The Container Store will transform one home's decoration storage disaster into an organized and efficient system," said Danielle Stanfield, editor of Cary Magazine. "We'll document the transformation and feature the winner in our holiday issue hitting the newsstands in November."

The Container Store will open its first Triangle-area store on Glenwood Avenue (across from Crabtree Valley Mall) in Raleigh on Oct. 16. The Container Store will donate 10 percent of all sales from the Grand Opening Weekend of its new store, Oct. 16 and 17, to the Junior League of Raleigh. Founded in Dallas in 1978, The Container Store now operates locations from coast to coast averaging 25,000 square feet and offering more than 10,000 products to help customers save space and, ultimately, time.
