Knowledge Direct Sparks Associations' Interest in Mobile Learning Technology

Association professionals at the NiUG International Conference for iMIS users, got a first look today at Digitec Interactive's Knowledge Direct learning management system with built-in content authoring for mobile and web-based delivery.

ORLANDO, FL, April 18, 2011

Association professionals at the NiUG (National iMIS Users Group) International Conference were introduced to new mobile learning technologies in Chicago today as representatives from Digitec Interactive demonstrated the newly released version 5.0 of the Knowledge Direct Learning Management System (LMS). The latest feature set included in the Knowledge Direct Learning Management System enables LMS administrators to create interactive eLearning courses from PowerPoint once and sit back as the built-in content authoring tool creates versions of the course for the web, smartphones, tablet computers and MP3 players.

Now, associations who use the iMIS association management system (AMS) have a completely integrated LMS solution for mobile and web based training. Using Flash and HTML 5 technology, Knowledge Direct's built-in rapid content authoring tool, Direct-to-WEB automatically converts PowerPoint presentations into interactive eLearning courseware with audio narration, closed captioning, interactive game activities, embedded YouTube videos and a sleek and stylish user interface.

Dick Hofmann, vice president of sales at Digitec Interactive says, "Associations are expressing a real interest and need for mobile learning. Their members are demanding mobile learning and they were excited to learn about the latest mLearning technology our solution has to offer associations."

Innovative technology behind the Knowledge Direct learning management framework takes the user experience to the next level with its ability to detect which browser the learner is accessing the learning from and automatically tailoring the course to reflect the type of device. Mobile devices using iOS such as the iPhone and iPad are served up HTML 5 versions of the courseware while Android and Blackberry smartphones and tablets run the native Flash content.

"The latest version of Knowledge Direct was developed with today's increasingly mobile workforce in mind and the system's ability to optimize the learner's experience based on mobile device type reflects that," added Jonathan Fore, Knowledge Direct product manager for Digitec Interactive.

Representatives from Digitec Interactive will continue to demonstrate the platform's new mobile learning technology through April 20, 2011 at the NiUG International Conference in Chicago, IL. NiUG International is a 3-day educational and networking event for member-based associations who utilize Advanced Solutions International's association management system, iMIS.
