Home Staging in Michigan Expert Darla Rowley Great Gave Home Selling Tips at WCCC

Home Staging in Michigan expert Darly Rowley of IMPACT IDS gave a talk at Wayne County Community College (WCCC) about ways home staging helps homes sell more quickly and for more money.

2011-04-24
DETROIT, MI, April 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Home Staging in Michigan expert Darly Rowley of IMPACT IDS gave a talk at the Eastern Campus of Wayne County Community College (WCCC) on Thursday, April 21, 2011. She discussed ways that home staging helps homes sell more quickly and for more money. She said that it can make a huge difference.

Professionally staged homes sell more quickly—and for more money.

Darla gave a couple interesting statistics. Did you know that statistics indicate that properly staging your home can help you sell your home almost three (3) times as quickly as a home that is not staged properly? Statistics also indicate that staged homes sell, on average, between 6% and 17% more than non-professionally staged homes.

Rowley identified the difference between home staging and interior design. Interior design is nice and really important—if you are living in your home. Home staging in Michigan or anywhere else is much more important if you are trying to sell your house for the price you want as quickly as possible.

Interior design reflects personal design tastes. There might be family pictures. You might have a certain religion, and you might enjoy having pieces of your religion as part of your decor. You might like wild colors, because you think they are vibrant.

These are great, but your taste might not match the person looking to buy your house.

Most house buying decisions are made within the First Two (2) Minutes.

Rowley reported that most of the time, a person looking at a home will know within the first two (2) minutes of seeing the house whether they can see themselves in it. If you have not connected with them during those first two minutes, you probably lost your chance.

How do you avoid losing your chance?

Home staging decorates your home in a way that allows the potential buyer to see the space in its best light without interrupting the buyer's ability to visualize his or her things in their place. A Michigan premier stager can make it look impersonal yet still warm.

We all know that it is not easy to sell a home in Michigan right now. Home staging in Michigan will dramatically improve your chances of having the buyer want to select YOUR home instead of the neighbor's.

Darla emphasized that you should use neutral colors throughout your home. She declared, "Neutral does NOT mean boring." She suggested that you use one of a few different variations of beige or gray; do not use white. However, if you do not have a great eye for color, what you select might be okay, but you will have missed your chance to make an eye-popping impact on the buyer.

She gave these tips and many more during her presentation on Thursday evening.

Darla Rowley is an ASP (Accredited Staging Professional), and she founded Impact Interior Design Solutions seven (7) years ago. She has a long list of home staging accolades, but most local investors know her as the Michigan premier stager. Within home staging in Michigan, her specialties are Interior Design, Interior Redesign, Marketing, Home Marketing, and Organization.
