ENCINO, CA, April 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) Castellan provides professional IT services in Hollywood, whether you need a computer consultant in Hollywood or bookkeeping services in Los Angeles. The following are just a few troubleshooting tips for do-it-yourselfers with at-home computer wireless routers.

The signal strength of your wireless router or base station (wireless access point) is the factor that most affects the performance of your Wi-Fi home computer network.

Some of the issues which adversely affect a wireless connection are related to distance, obstructions, or interference.

If a wireless device moves out of range of the signal, the connection will obviously be dropped. For the best performance of your wireless equipment, choose the location of the router or access point carefully. The most practical way to determine the best positioning for reliable wireless performance is trial and error. You'll no doubt find best results in a location that's centrally positioned.

Avoid physical obstructions that could detract from the effectiveness of your wireless connection. Any barriers to the line of sight between the wireless device and the router will diminish the Wi-Fi signal. The worst obstructions tend to be brick or plaster walls, but cabinets and furniture will also weaken the signal. For this reason, it's helpful to install the router on or near the ceiling.

Keep in mind that reflective surfaces such as mirrors, windows, and metal file cabinets can cause Wi-Fi signals to bounce around, lessening the performance and range of the wireless network.

Don't install a wireless route any closer than 3 feet from home appliances that send wireless signals in the same frequency range. These types of devices include microwave ovens, baby monitors, and cordless telephones.

The motors in some types of electrical equipment can generate interference with your wireless device, such as electric fans and fluorescent lighting.

Castellan offers computer consulting in Hollywood and can help with any computer problems you may experience.

Women who are considering breast augmentation surgery generally want their new shape to be ready for summer. Understandably, they look forward to taking full advantage of all the clothing and fashion they've been unable (or hesitant) to enjoy in the past. In order to allow for plenty of healing time, breast augmentation candidates should plan to have their procedure completed in the winter or early spring months, such as February or March. With people's busy holiday schedules behind them, and colder weather keeping everyone indoors, these months are an ideal time to ...

Alimony Waivers and Premarital Agreement Options

2011-04-27
Alimony Waivers and Premarital Agreement Options The discussion below is neither a complete analysis nor complete review of alimony or Premarital Agreements, but rather a very general discussion, and it is not intended as legal advice for any particular person. The only exception being if the waiver ...

What is a 341 Meeting? Named for the section in which it's housed in the Bankruptcy code, a 341 meeting, also called the meeting of creditors, is an opportunity for the bankruptcy trustee to ask you about your bankruptcy filing as well as for any of your creditors to come forward and object to your request for relief. That may sound scary, but keep reading: it's not as bad as you think! The 341 meeting may be the only hearing that you will have related to your Arizona Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Caterpillars inspire new movements in soft robots

2011-04-27
Researchers have been examining the diverse behaviours of caterpillars to find solutions for the new generation of search and rescue soft robots. Despite their extreme flexibility and adaptability, current soft-bodied robots are often limited by their slow speed, leading the researchers to turn to terrestrial soft-bodied animals for inspiration. This highly dynamic process, called ballistic rolling, is one of the fastest wheeling behaviours ...
