2010 SEA Club Promoters of the Year, FlyMajor.com, offers up to $1000 in scholarship awards to assist students with funding for their education.

2010-09-12
NASHVILLE, TN, September 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Robert Higgins, who is the Co-founder and CEO of Nashville based club Promotion Company, FlyMajor.com is serving the community with the FlyMajor Above All Odds Annual Scholarship. Higgins, also known as Black Rob, is offering the need based scholarship in keeping with FlyMajor.com's social responsibility and by following the Tennessee State University creed of Think, Work, and Serve. The grants are being offered to full-time college freshman, sophomores, and/or juniors attending Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Vanderbilt University, Lipscomb University, Belmont University, or Middle Tennessee State University. Eligible students are being asked to submit a recent unofficial transcript, a copy of their current class schedule, and a 300 minimum word essay explaining why they should be selected for the FlyMajor Above All Odds Scholarship by the September 22 deadline.

Three students will be awarded the scholarship. These recipients will be granted $1000, $500, or $250 respectively. This year a private award ceremony has been added to the program, which is scheduled for September 28. The award recipients must be able to attend, as they will be presented with their scholarship during this time.

"The FlyMajor Above All Odds Scholarship is relevant and it serves! I remember not being able to afford all of the books I needed while in school; having to borrow or share books. I just wanted to create an opportunity for students to be able to completely focus on their academics. When you're worried about money or you can't follow along in class because you don't have the proper materials, it's hard to focus. It means the world to me to have the resources to serve in this capacity, and I know it means a lot to the recipients too!" --Robert "Black Rob" Higgins Co-Founder and CEO of FlyMajor.com
