MANHATTAN, NY, April 28, 2011 (Press-News.org) Tiffany Johnson, author of Enough is Enough: This is My Story, left her audience with a great sense of hope at her debut book signing on April 16, 2011. Everyone that attended the event was in awe of Johnson's heart-gripping and emotional story. Her tragic account of domestic violence left some people in tears.
Ms. Johnson wasn't the only person that shared a story on that day. Survivors and victims of domestic violence joined in and shared their ''I'' stories. Audience members asked various questions on how they could become a part of her mission and spread awareness throughout the community.
Two noteworthy organizations participated in the event -- P.O.W.E.R.S INC. and Child Abuse Prevention Program. Both organizations provided an assortment of resources for people seeking help. P.O.W.E.R.S INC shared resources for domestic violence victims, such as self defense classes and job resources. Some of the attendees donated money to the charity CAPP- Children Abuse Prevention Program. According to experts, children are also victims of domestic violence.
Ms. Johnson is pleased by the response she received at her book signing.
''I believe the book signing was successful. A lot of people came out to show support. I felt people wanted to know and was willing to learn what the early signs are when it comes to domestic violence. My mission is to continue spreading the word. Awareness can help save a life. I believe that each one teach one. And we can make a difference,'' says Ms. Johnson.
Ten percent of all proceeds from book sales were donated to benefit Child Abuse Prevention Program. Enough is Enough: This is My Story is available in soft cover, ebook format for iPad, Kindle, Nook, and Sony Reader.
