New iPhone App Makes it Easy for Busy Parents to Save and Share Kids' Quotes, Milestones and Stories
PHOENIX, AZ, pril 29, 2011
Grandma loves getting a phone call and hearing the latest news about the grandkids on Mother's Day. But what if she received an automatically generated e-mail every week with funny quotes, anecdotes and news about her grandchildren? The new Kidlee Baby Book and Family Journal iPhone app (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kidlee-baby-book-family-journal/id431561846?mt=8) does just that. The free app is launching in the iTunes AppStore on April 27 - so parents can sign up and get Grandma her first update by Mother's Day.Kidlee was developed by a mom and dad team, Elaina and Gary Verhoff, who needed a quick way to jot down special memories about their kids, and to share them with grandparents or other family and friends. The Verhoffs created the Kidlee.com website one year ago. In response to user demand, they are now launching a complementary iPhone app so parents can tap in notes about their kids wherever they happen to be.
Kidlee for iPhone and iPod Touch uses a super simple Twitter-like interface that lets users quickly enter the things they want to remember about their kids (doctors visits, milestones, funny quotes, conversations and stories - anything at all). The app is free, or users can choose to upgrade to Kidlee Plus for additional features and functionality. Kidlee lets users invite family and friends to receive regular email updates with their Kidlee posts. There is no need for followers to sign up for a Kidlee account themselves.
Kidlee app activity is automatically synched with a user's Kidlee.com account and Kidlee's secure servers, so all data is safe if a user's device is ever lost or stolen. Users can generate a spreadsheet of all their Kidlee entries at the click of a button, any time they like.
Quotes:
"Our kids crack us up daily," said Elaina. "Since I pretty much missed their baby book phase, I vowed to do a better job tracking their childhood years. First, I tried to keep track of their funny quotes on scraps of paper. Sometimes I'd even get those quotes into a jar, but it was a bit disorganized, to say the least. We also knew we wanted to share all the funny stories with relatives who lived far away, so we needed an online solution."
"Our priority when building Kidlee was to keep it super simple, for both the users and their Followers." said Gary. "Most parents don't have much free time, so Kidlee allows you to zip off a post in seconds. Our simple interface is what sets Kidlee apart from other online baby books."
