Foundation Financial Group pounds pavement for Atlanta relief projects

Proceeds from road race support women's Junior League

2011-05-01
ATLANTA, GA, May 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Employees from one of the nation's fastest-growing financial services companies hit the roads to raise funds for one of Atlanta's oldest volunteer organizations.

Foundation Financial Group's Atlanta employees participated in this month's local ShamRock 'N Roll Road Race, held at Atlantic Station. The seventh annual event, which included a 5K, 10K and a kilt run, supported the Junior League of Atlanta.

Founded in 1916, the Junior League of Atlanta works to improve the health, education and welfare of the local community's women and children. The League provides crucial volunteer resources and funding, while serving as a catalyst for positive change through partnerships with more than 90 nonprofit organizations.

"Supporting this charity allows our Foundation Financial Group to give back to the community where we work and live," said Cindy Adams, vice president of underwriting. "Plus, the road race offered a great way to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. I could not be more proud of our employees taking time out of their busy lives and away from family by supporting this great cause."

While Foundation Financial Group employees took part in the road race, the financial services company made an additional monetary donation in support of the Junior League.
