Math Concentration Offers Free Math Boot Camp This Summer

Project UNITEE is an online boot camp, targeted, worldwide summer remediation program for middle school students who struggle with math.

CORAL SPRINGS, FL, May 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) President and math teacher Wanda McDowell will be offering Project UNITEE this summer 2011. Project UNITEE (Urging Noticeable Improvement Through Excessive Exercises) is a free six-week summer math boot camp program for middle school students who struggle with math. It will consist of math drills, puzzles, timed tests, and challenging math problems. "This program is beneficial for parents who want their kids to work at their full potential," McDowell Said. "With the push for higher academic achievement in math and more rigorous curriculum, it is expected that some students will need extra help and a little push, which is what Project UNITEE provides.

Project UNITEE will be offered June 20- July 29, 2011, Monday through Friday. The purpose of Project UNITEE is to strengthen your ability to explain and justify procedures for multiplying and dividing fractions. Master word problems, apply formulas for surface area and volume of shapes, evaluate one and two-step equations. Interpret graphs, puzzles, patters, and tables, and much more. The program will be offered through a virtual classroom, chat, email, and forum. Our classroom is equipped with virtual whiteboard. Class times T.B.D. (to be determined). At the end of the program, three winners will be chosen based on participation and test grades. The first prize winner will receive a one-hundred dollar Visa gift card. The second prize winner will receive a fifty-dollar Visa gift card. The third prize winner will receive a twenty-five dollar Visa gift card.
