Academy of Coaching and NLP Receives Highest Level Certification

As an Accredited Coach Training Program, ACN now offers the oral and written exams needed for professional certification through the ICF.

2011-05-04
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Academy of Coaching and NLP was recently approved at the highest level of certification offered by the International Coach Federation (ICF). As a fully approved Accredited Coach Training Program, (ACTP), the Academy of Coaching and NLP (ACN) now offers its coaching students a streamlined route to getting the professional certification they need to become fully certified coaches.

According to Helen Attridge, Director of ACN: "I recently received the exciting news that ACN is now a fully approved ICF ACTP Coach training program, and we are very excited to share that news with all of you! We are pleased to now have the whole ICF credentialing process streamlined to assist our students in having everything they need to become part of the local and international market place."

As an Accredited Coach Training Program, ACN now offers the oral and written exams needed for professional certification through the ICF. This means that ACN students will be able to advance to the next level of professional certification by the most efficient and effective means possible. ACN also offers students the mentoring and supervision needed to successfully complete certification.

"Receiving ICF ACTP certification is increasingly important to students interested in the coaching profession," explains Helen Attridge. "By becoming ACTP certified, schools like ACN gain the trust of the public. Students can be assured that the ACTP school has undergone a rigorous professional evaluation in order to qualify for this credentialing. Our ICF approved status is a way of giving our students the assurance that they are in good hands with ACN."

In its recent survey of coach training schools, ACN delineated the top five ingredients a coaching student should look for in evaluating a program:

Excellence in Training: A good coach training program will be clear about the kind of training or modality that it offers, as well as the effectiveness of that training. For example, ACN combines training in both pure coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming. Blending the two approaches in this integrative way gives students a powerful range of tools to help clients attain their highest vision of themselves.

Real-Life Results: Students who go through a coach training should see positive changes in their personal life as well as their career. One of the key components to the training at ACN is that students experience positive changes in their own lives while learning the coaching skills to help others change theirs.

A Business Model: When looking at coaching schools, students should ask, "What happens after I complete my training?" Some coaching schools end with coach training certification and don't help their students build a successful coaching practice. ACN offers students the guidance and support needed to build the foundation to develop and market a coaching practice that thrives at the local and international level.

Top Trainers: One of the most important criteria students should use in evaluating coaching schools is the quality of the faculty. What type of training and how much experience do the trainers have? At ACN, 90% of our trainers have 15+ years' experience. Many have authored or co-authored books, articles, and other educational materials. They all train internationally and have done so for many years.

Highest Level of Certification: Students should look to see whether the school has gone through the process of being certified. The International Coaching Federation is the lead professional organization for coaches, and not every school has been ACTP certified. Schools that are ICF certified, like ACN, go through a rigorous evaluation and are held at the highest standard.
