LateRooms.com - Rome Venue to Welcome 30 Seconds to Mars

American rockers 30 Seconds to Mars are heading to Rome's Ippodromo Capannelle in June.

2011-05-05
ROME, ITALY, May 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) US rock band 30 Seconds to Mars are set to perform at the Ippodromo Capannelle in Rome this summer.

The group, formed by Hollywood actor Jared Leto and his older brother Shannon in 1998, have scheduled a string of European dates and will visit the Italian capital on Saturday June 18th.

With three studio albums and several hit singles now under their belt, the group have managed to transcend their association with Leto's movie career and gain plaudits in their own right.

The actor, who has appeared in films such as Requiem for a Dream, Panic Room and Fight Club, is known for refusing to use his fame to promote the band.

Leto is the lead vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter in 30 Seconds to Mars, whose third LP This Is War was released in December 2009.

The album contains tracks such as Kings and Queens, Closer to the Edge and Hurricane, which the band performed with Kanye West at last year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid.

Tickets to see the group perform in Rome are available online, priced at EUR46 (GBP40.80). The show is due to begin at 19:00 local time.
