ORLANDO, FL, May 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine is pleased to announce a partnership with Medical Media Solutions, Inc. of Cherry Hill, NJ to provide digital educational content in their members' patient waiting areas.
"The dynamic content will compel patients to watch Medical Media's monitors. The hope is that this content will help alert patients to medical conditions that they can then discuss with their physicians", says Dr. Franz Ritucci, president of the AAUCM. The Doctor continues, "Our goal is to educate our patients so they can live healthier lives. This improves their quality of life and reduces overall healthcare costs. Our organization feels that Medical Media allows us to start that process in our waiting areas, making the time with the physician more productive."
Medical Media Solutions, Inc. covers pertinent topics for people visiting the specific centers in a fun and engaging way. Topics such as heart health are covered in a very easy to understand way. Patients understand why these topics are important and are given specific ways to improve their health or ideas on what questions to ask their physicians.
"Our goal is to help the urgent care clinics provide top notch service to their patients. We believe this starts by helping the patient know what to discuss with their physician", explains Jim Cucinotta, CEO of Medical Media. "The content covers a very important topic in about two minutes. We utilize trivia to reinforce the messages of our content. It is amazing how much you learn while you are being entertained. Our advertising partners gain access to these patients in a sterile environment. Research shows that their messages are remembered much longer and buying frequencies are much higher."
The first round of monitors will be installed in the Orlando market in early June. The goal is to have 500 monitors operational by 2012. "After incorporating the learning from the pilot, we want all of our patients to have the opportunity to improve their health through fun education. With over 3,000,000 patients visiting these centers annually, a $100 per patient annual savings ends up being very significant", explains Dr. Ritucci.
