BALTIMORE, MD, May 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Baltimore International College (BIC) is launching a summer culinary workshop program for students entering their junior or senior year of high school who are interested in becoming a chef or pastry chef.
The summer culinary workshops give students the opportunity to investigate career options at BIC. Each day of the weeklong class consists of working a half-day in our professional kitchens led by our world-class chef instructors, plus a half-day of experiencing Baltimore's food scene with field trips and guest speakers. The week culminates with a grand buffet to showcase your work to family and friends.
Classes include Introduction to Culinary Arts, Introduction to Baking and Pastry, and Advanced Culinary and Baking. The cost per class is $750, which includes two professional chef coats, one chef hat, one neckerchief, five aprons, three meals a day with two meals on Friday, four nights in student housing, as well as all transportation to and from housing and field trips. Scholarship opportunities and grants are also available if the student decides to enroll at BIC.
